Prelude to Hell

Called this ride “prelude to hell” simply because today is going to be a hellaciously busy work day. I am basically on non-stop calls from 11am through to 9pm, with nary a break even to hit the bathroom. So I wanted to get some kilometers logged and fresh air consumed on this lovely Thursday morning before an early call, prior to to aptly named hell day kicking off.

Felt noticeably sluggish today. Just could not get in the groove, and the analysis stats demonstrate my utter lack of prowess on the tarmac today. I guess you cannot win them all right? Chalk it up to another late work night, followed by a very early morning call, resulting in shit for sleep. So I guess limited recovery time kinda works as a disadvantage today.

The good news is the weather is somewhat nice today. Blue skies abound, nice breeze, but sticky humidity. We are definitely approaching the dreaded Japanese summer!

Wickedly Wet Wednesday

The post-rain weather today resulted in an exceptionally mild and exceedingly comfortable temperature this morning, almost to the point where I contemplated wearing a shirt with some sleeves. The sky looked like hell was about to descend upon the city, so maybe a ride was not the wisest thing to do. But a wise man I am not, and I decided a ride, even a wet one, would be better than no ride at all.

Suddenly Slow Spring Spinning

Well look at that! After all the crazy rain the last 36-ish hours, even all through this morning, a sudden turn of events has the sky blasting blue over the western side of Tokyo 23! Sometime around 11:30am to noon the sky turned a bright ocean shade of blue, and the rain stopped storming down upon the neighborhood. This was the chance I had been secretly waiting on, and as luck would have it, I now was faced with an opportunity to finally hit the streets!
