Ishiwariyama is a rather low laying mountain very close to Lake Yamanaka in the Fuji Five Lakes area in Yamanashi Prefecture. It is renown for its fairly easy climb with outstanding views of Mount Fuji in winter and spring. On this beautiful and unseasonably warm spring day the sky was a deep, dark blue and the snow-covered tip of Mount Fuji fabulous. At the peak of Ishiwariyama, we enjoyed some onigiri while sipping on some coffee, overlooking Mount Fuji the entire time. There is almost no better way to have lunch in the middle of a hike.
